More ways to hear from me!

I've come to a bit of a realization of late, I just don't have the impetus or really even the time, to write dedicated meaningful blog posts lately. It kind of sucks, because from time to time there are things that I would like to share with you guys, but for the most part it just doesn't seem like the topics would make meaningful posts.

So, I'm succumbing to the darkside and I've signed up for a Twitter account. I'm going to try and keep it somewhat anonymous, that way I can bitch about my students a bit more. Of course the short form of Twitter will keep things from actually being that meaningful, but at least the format is appropriate for the comments/thoughts/musings that I feel like sharing

Anyway, if you want to follow along and see how it goes my feed is http://twitter.com/Achemprof and if you happen to have a feed and feel like sharing let me know.

I will of course still be posting things in here, after all I occasionally want to say things that don't fit into only 160 characters.

Ah crap!

Yeah, it's been a while since I posted on here but who really cares. A lot has been going on, mostly work though so it's really not that exciting to talk about. So instead I will take this opportunity to point out that I fucked up this afternoon. On the way to a dinner with some fellow faculty members I managed to run into a car, with my car. Actually, more accurately, I pulled out into the path or another car.

So that really sucks. I guess the guy was in my blind spot and I made the move too quickly. For now I'm kind of blaming my actions on playing Mario Kart on the Wii. The use of a steering wheel for the game makes the thing seem so much more real. Unfortunately the damage to the cars is real, so there goes the rest of the income tax return money. The rest of the money had gone to pay for the Wii and is going to a bunch of new bike gear.

I guess this was bound to happen eventually. Now that I think of it, this wasn't the first accident I've had in San Diego. Though last time I was rear-ended; at about 1.5 mph so it really didn't do a thing to either car. But with this many cars around they are likely to try to occupy the same space at the same time on occasion. In fact, there was almost another accident right near mine while we were sorting out the insurance details.

Anyway, that's the shitty start to my weekend, hopefully the rest of the weekend will go better; but one thing is for sure, whatever I will be doing it will be closer to home, the steering on the car is a bit fucked.
